Ineligible Operations

The following operations present exposures that are not eligible for the Merchants Advantage Plus - Auto Repair Program.

• Any activity at a location not eligible for this program
• Apartment Exposure unless only one unit and owner occupied
• Auto Towing Companies
• Defined as Auto Club Towing or operations that perform 24 Hour Towing
• Incidental towing in conjunction with an otherwise eligible risk is acceptable.
• Auto Dealers
• Used Vehicle Sales Incidental to collision repair are eligible, but may not exceed 12 units per year. (Owned Auto Coverage is not provided in the Merchants Advantage Plus Program. Contact your underwriter to determine Commercial Auto eligibility.)
• Auto Dismantlers, Rebuilders or Restorers
• Auto Detail Shops (including Clean-up, Waxing, and Buffing)
• Auto Tire Dealers (including tire recapping and vulcanizing)
• Risks engaged exclusively in sales of tires are ineligible. Incidental tire sales in conjunction with an otherwise eligible risk are acceptable.
• Body and/or Mechanical Repair on Vehicles over 20,000 GVW
• Car Washes
• Convenience Stores
• Equipment or Tool Rental
• Farm or Contractors Equipment Service or Repair
• Gasoline Sales
• LPG/Propane Sales, including tank exchange, greater than 5% of Receipts
• Manufacturing / Re-manufacturing Operations
• Mobile Home and Recreational Vehicle Sales, Service, or Repair
• Motorcycle Repair
• Oil Change and Lubrication
• Defined as operations that specialize in oil changes, lubrication, and other preventative maintenance. Oil change/lubrication performed as incidental operations by an otherwise eligible risk is acceptable.
• Operations in Connection with a Marina
• Restaurant Exposure
• Parking Garages or Operations
• Pick Up or Delivery of Customers’ Vehicles.  This does not include vehicles moved via tow truck or transporter plate.)
• Ownership, Sponsorship or Repair of Vehicles Involved in Racing, Stunt or Speed Demonstrations
• Renting, Leasing or Loaning of Autos
• Rustproofing / Undercoating and Glazing
• Salvage or Wrecking Operations or Yards
• Self-Service Bay Rentals
• Sound and Communication Equipment Installation, Service and Repair, including Radio, Mobile Phone, Alarm, etc.

• Truck Plazas
Vehicle Conversion Specialists, including Upholstery and Sunroof Shops
