We will pay up to $1,000 for:
- the legal obligation of an insured person to pay because of the theft or unauthorized use of credit cards issued to or registered in an insured person's name;
- loss resulting from theft or unauthorized use of a fund transfer card or access device used for deposit, withdrawal or transfer of funds. Such card must be issued to or registered in an insured person's name;
- loss to an insured person caused by forgery or alteration of any check or negotiable instrument; and
- loss to an insured person through acceptance in good faith of counterfeit United States or Canadian paper currency.
We do not cover use of a credit card or fund transfer card or access device:
- by a resident of the residence premisesor a person temporarily living in the dwelling;
- by a person who has been entrusted with either type of card or access device; or
- if an insured person has not complied with all terms and conditions under which the cards are issued or devices accessed.
We will pay no more than $1,000 for any one loss involving one or more of these coverages. Repeated losses caused by one person or in which one person is involved are to be considered one loss.
We do not cover loss arising out of business use or dishonesty of any insured person.
If a claim is made or suit is brought against an insured person for liability to which this coverage applies, we will defend the insured person. We will use our lawyers and bear the expense.
We may investigate and settle any claim or suit that we decide is appropriate. Our duty to defend a claim or suit ends whenthe amount we pay or when the amount we offer to pay by tendering the money to you equals our limit of liability.
